ENA State 2025-07-18 17:53:03 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Raipur, Jul 18 (KNN)</strong> A new NITI Aayog report, unveiled in New Raipur in the presence of CM Vishnu Deo Sai and NITI Aayog member K Subramaniam, calls for a significant upgrade in Chhattisgarhs service sector.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Currently, services make up 35% of the states GDP, and the goal is to raise this to 50% by 2047&mdash;matching the broader vision of transforming Chhattisgarh into a Rs 75 lakh crore economy by then .</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">At present, industry contributes around 45% and agriculture 20% to the state GDP. The report stresses that rapid growth in information technology, logistics, and tourism will be necessary to achieve the proposed service-sector expansion. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Specific initiatives suggested include developing IT-enabled hubs, fostering AI startups, and establishing BPO centres with incentives such as low-cost land and regional subsidies.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Tourism also plays a key role. Chhattisgarh currently ranks 19th for domestic and 28th for international tourism.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">To improve this, the report recommends tax breaks, discounted utilities, and the development of varied tourism formats&mdash;eco-tourism, heritage, wellness, adventure, religious, and MICE&mdash;with dedicated infrastructure at select destinations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Connectivity enhancements are central to supporting these ambitions.
