ENA Sectors 2025-07-21 15:13:33 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Panipat, Jul 21 (KNN)</strong> L&amp;T Energy GreenTech (LTEG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen &amp; Toubro (L&amp;T), announced plans to establish India's largest green hydrogen production facility at Indian Oil Corporation's (IOCL) Panipat refinery in Haryana. The announcement was made through a company filing on Monday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The facility will be developed under a build-own-operate (BOO) model and is designed to supply 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to IOCL over a 25-year period.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The project represents a significant milestone in India's renewable energy sector and supports the government's National Green Hydrogen Mission objectives.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The initiative is expected to contribute substantially to reducing carbon emissions from IOCL's refining operations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The plant will operate continuously using renewable energy sources and will employ high-pressure alkaline electrolysers manufactured at L&amp;T Electrolysers Ltd's facility in Hazira, Gujarat.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Subramaniam Sarma, Deputy Managing Director and President, L&amp;T, described the development as validation of the company's strategic focus on leading India's energy transition.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He emphasised that the long-term project strengthens L&amp;T's partnership with IOCL while demonstrating the company's capacity to deliver large-scale clean energy solutions.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Sarma noted L&amp;T's position as a first mover in India's green hydrogen sector and its role in establishing foundations for cleaner industrial processes.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Derek Shah, Head of Green Manufacturing &amp; Development, L&amp;T, highlighted the project as a demonstration of the company's comprehensive green energy capabilities.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He stated that L&amp;T aims to deliver a high-efficiency, zero-emission facility that advances the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative through the deployment of domestically manufactured electrolysers.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 42889 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/indias-largest-green-hydrogen-plant-coming-up-at-indian-oils-panipat-refinery 2025-07-21 15:13:33 knnindia.co.in
