Indore, Jul 24 (KNN) More than 50 small and medium enterprises have submitted proposals for investments totalling approximately Rs 100 crore in the newly established Maheshwar industrial belt located in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises department has allocated 55 plots within the industrial area to companies operating in diverse sectors including food processing, polybag manufacturing, garments, and plastic products.

The District Industries and Trade Centre, operating under the MSME department, developed the Maheshwar industrial area across 20 hectares with an estimated investment of Rs 12 crore.

The industrial belt contains a total of 58 plots, with nearly all units secured by interested enterprises through the competitive bidding process conducted via the MSME portal.

Dhananjay Shukla, General Manager, District Industries and Trade Centre in Khargone, confirmed the strong market response to the development.

Almost all the plots have been booked by industries, and they proposed to invest collectively around Rs 100 crore in the industrial area, Shukla stated. He attributed the successful allocation to significant interest and demand for industrial land in the region.

The overwhelming response has prompted authorities to consider expansion plans for the industrial belt. Shukla indicated that most existing industrial areas in the district have reached capacity, leading to the planning of a second phase for the Maheshwar industrial belt.

The proposed expansion will cover 30 hectares to accommodate additional industrial development.

The MSME department in Khargone is simultaneously working on establishing food clusters designed to support agriculture-related industries in the region.

This initiative aligns with broader efforts to strengthen the industrial infrastructure across the district.

Khargone district currently operates six government industrial belts, including facilities in Nimrani, Khargone, Bikangaon, and Badwah, reflecting the area's growing importance as an industrial hub in the region.

(KNN Bureau)
