New Delhi, Aug 22 (KNN) The Government of India has rolled out several initiatives to digitally empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with special focus on Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) entrepreneurs.

Under the National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) Scheme, SC/ST-owned MSEs can receive reimbursement of up to 80 per cent of annual membership or subscription fees (up to Rs 25,000) on government-supported e-commerce portals.

The impact of these initiatives is visible. As of 15 August 2025, 59,390 SC/ST MSMEs have been onboarded on GeM, 24,970 SC/ST MSMEs have registered on the MSME Global Mart, and 304 SC/ST MSMEs have joined the MSME TEAM platform.

These measures aim to boost their participation in online marketing and e-commerce, giving them wider access to markets and better business opportunities.

One of the key platforms driving this effort is the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), which has made government procurement more transparent and fully digital.

Alongside this, the MSME Trade Enablement and Marketing (MSME TEAM) initiative is helping enterprises get onboarded onto the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), guiding them through their e-commerce journey.

To provide direct support, the Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme offers financial aid to MSMEs for online selling. Additionally, the MSME Global Mart, developed by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), functions as a B2B platform, connecting businesses with global trade leads, tenders, and market insights.

For B2C outreach, the ekhadiindia.com portal, managed by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), promotes khadi and village industry products worldwide through interactive features.

Inclusion remains a priority.

These steps reflect the governments commitment to promoting digital adoption among MSMEs, empowering them to compete more effectively in both domestic and global markets.

(KNN Bureau)
