ENA State 2025-09-08 14:41:56 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Bengaluru, Sep 8 (KNN)</strong> The Karnataka government has approved the allocation of 6.17 acres of land at Hessarghatta for the establishment of a Quantum City (Q-City), Science and Technology Minister N.S. Boseraju announced on Sunday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The initiative aims to foster research, startups, and academic industry collaboration in quantum technologies, with the state targeting a USD 20 billion quantum economy by 2035, he said, according to the Times of India.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The minister said the land approval, granted on September 3, 2025, fulfils commitments made during Indias first Quantum India Bengaluru Conclave. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He described the project as a historic milestone that would attract global talent and investment while positioning Bengaluru as a leading hub for quantum research and innovation.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Alongside the Q-City approval, the government has also sanctioned eight acres of land for the expansion of the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS-TIFR) to strengthen academic and research activity in theoretical sciences.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">According to the government, Q-City will integrate academic institutions, innovation hubs, production clusters for quantum hardware and processors, and R&amp;D facilities linked with high-performance computing data centres, creating an ecosystem for advanced quantum technology development.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 43423 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/state/karnataka-govt-clears-617-acres-for-quantum-city-targets-usd-20-bn-quantum-economy-by-2035 2025-09-08 14:41:56 knnindia.co.in
