ENA State 2025-09-11 15:33:39 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Patna, Sep 11 (KNN)</strong> The government has approved the development of a 4-lane greenfield, access-controlled highway project in Bihar.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The corridor will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) with a total length of 82.4 km and an outlay of Rs 4,447.38 crore.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) cleared the proposal for the Mokama Munger section of the Buxar Bhagalpur High-Speed Corridor.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The route will improve connectivity between Mokama, Barahiya, Lakhisarai, Jamalpur, and Munger, extending access to Bhagalpur.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Eastern Bihars industrial belt&mdash;comprising an ordnance factory cluster, the Jamalpur locomotive workshop, food processing units in Munger and Barahiya, and Bhagalpurs textile and logistics hub&mdash;is expected to benefit significantly from the project.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The corridor is designed for speeds of up to 100 km/h and will cut travel time between Mokama and Munger to about 1.5 hours, providing safer and uninterrupted movement for both freight and passenger traffic.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The project is projected to generate around 14.83 lakh man-days of direct employment and 18.46 lakh man-days of indirect employment during construction.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Additional job creation is anticipated through the increased economic activity spurred by improved connectivity.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 43464 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/state/cabinet-approves-rs-4447-cr-mokamamunger-section-of-high-speed-corridor-in-bihar 2025-09-11 15:33:39 knnindia.co.in
