ENA Economy 2025-09-12 16:37:32 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Sep 12 (KNN)</strong> A three-day tour covering Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar will feature the inauguration and foundation stone laying of development projects worth over Rs 71,850 crore.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">These initiatives span infrastructure, regional connectivity, energy, education, healthcare, and cultural programmes aimed at boosting socio-economic growth across the eastern and northeastern states.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will unveil major projects across the five states.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">On September 13, he will begin in Mizoram, inaugurating the Bairabi Sairang rail line&mdash;the states first connection to the Indian Railways network&mdash;along with new express train services linking Aizawl to Delhi, Guwahati, and Kolkata.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Projects worth over Rs 9,000 crore will also be launched, covering roads, sports facilities, schools, and energy infrastructure.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In Manipur, projects worth more than Rs 7,300 crore will be initiated in Churachandpur, including urban infrastructure and highway works, while in Imphal, projects worth over Rs 1,200 crore will be inaugurated, such as the new Civil Secretariat, IT SEZ, and upgraded Ima Markets.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">On September 14, further projects worth Rs 18,500 crore will be launched in Assam, including medical colleges, bridges, the Guwahati Ring Road, and industrial projects at the Numaligarh Refinery.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">On September 15, the programme will continue in West Bengal, where the 16th Combined Commanders Conference will be inaugurated in Kolkata.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Later in Bihar, projects worth around Rs 36,000 crore will be rolled out in Purnea.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">These include the new airport terminal, Bihars largest private sector thermal power project at Pirpainti, the Kosi-Mechi River Link Project, and multiple new rail services, along with the launch of the National Makhana Board.
