ENA Sectors 2025-09-22 15:55:52 New Delhi, Sep 22 (KNN) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday launched the Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 3.0 and Logistics Data Bank (LDB) 2.0 in New Delhi. The initiatives, developed by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), are aimed at strengthening Indias competitiveness in manufacturing and logistics. Goyal said the government is actively developing 20 plug-and-play industrial parks and smart cities under the NICDC, with four completed, four under construction, and others at various stages of bidding and tendering. He noted that IPRS 3.0 would help benchmark facilities, infrastructure, and competitiveness of industrial parks across States and Union Territories, offering transparent data for investors and policymakers while promoting best practices. The third edition of IPRS builds on earlier versions launched in 2018 and 2021, expanding its framework to cover sustainability, green infrastructure, logistics connectivity, digitalisation, skill linkages, and tenant feedback. Parks will be rated under three categories—Leaders, Challengers, and Aspirers—based on performance across key parameters. Officials said the exercise would enable States and UTs to showcase high-performing parks, identify areas for improvement, attract investments, and generate employment. Alongside, Goyal also unveiled LDB 2.0, a digital logistics tracking platform developed by NICDC Logistics Data Services (NLDSL). The system offers real-time insights into logistics infrastructure and performance, enabling better planning, higher efficiency, and cost reduction. A key feature is high-seas container tracking, which allows exporters to monitor shipments even after departure from Indian ports. The platform provides multi-modal visibility across road, rail, and sea, supported by integration with the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) APIs. It also features a live container heatmap to help policymakers and industry stakeholders identify imbalances and potential bottlenecks in supply chains.
