ENA Sectors 2025-10-31 17:36:57 <p><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Oct 31 (KNN)</strong> Speaking at the National FPO Conclave 2025, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan underlined the governments focus on transforming farmers into entrepreneurs through value addition, processing, and diversification.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px">The conclave, held in New Delhi on Thursday, brought together over 500 participants, including farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Implementing Agencies (IAs), and Cluster-Based Business Organisations (CBBOs) from 24 states and 140 districts.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Our focus is on integrated farming for the benefit of farmers. Relying solely on grains will not suffice; allied activities must be promoted to enhance farmers income, said Chouhan.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px">He announced that the government is preparing to introduce a new Seed Act aimed at ensuring farmers have access to high-quality seeds. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px">He also noted that strict measures are being taken to curb the sale of fake seeds and pesticides, and that strong legislation will soon be implemented to safeguard farmers interests.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Farmers should not remain only producers but become entrepreneurs through agriculture.
