ENA Sectors 2025-11-03 18:47:03 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Nov 3 (KNN)</strong> India and Germany have reiterated their commitment to deepening collaboration in renewable energy and sustainable development, the German Embassy said on Sunday, following the conclusion of a four-day official visit to India by German Parliamentary State Secretary Johann Saathoff.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In New Delhi, Saathoff inaugurated the German Pavilion at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2025, where companies from both countries showcased innovations in solar, wind, and green hydrogen, according to ANI.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He noted that the collaboration represents a unified effort by Team Germany, integrating government ministries, development agencies such as GIZ and KfW, and private sector partners to strengthen global renewable energy value chains.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">At the Indo-German CEO Roundtable on Solar Energy, jointly organised by the New and Renewable Energy Ministry (MNRE) and the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), discussions focused on solar manufacturing, technology transfer, and investment opportunities.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Saathoff emphasised that renewable energy serves not only as an economic catalyst but also as a moral imperative to safeguard the planet for future generations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Leaders from both countries, known for their renewable energy integration, are committed to sharing expertise on large-scale solar and wind deployment, grid integration, and sustainable industrial practices.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">During his visit, Saathoff also toured the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi, visiting an Agri-Photovoltaic (Agri-PV) demonstration site developed in partnership with GIZ India.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The initiative integrates solar energy generation with agriculture, allowing farmers to produce food and electricity simultaneously.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He described Agri-PV as a third harvest, combining food and energy security to strengthen sustainable rural livelihoods.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The programme also included discussions with researchers and students to explore future cooperation in agricultural technology, research, and capacity building.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He added, At Windergy India 2025 in Chennai, I saw first-hand the potential and commitment of India's wind energy sector, and here at Renewable Energy India 2025 in Delhi, I have been inspired by the progress and ambition in solar and biogas.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Together, we are connecting ideas, expertise, and industries to grow together, learn from each other, and build a cleaner, brighter future for our children and grandchildren, he said.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The visit was organised by Germanys Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Consulate General in Chennai, under the framework of the Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP) between India and Germany.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></span></p> 43975 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/india-germany-to-strengthen-cooperation-in-renewable-energy-sustainability 2025-11-03 18:47:03 knnindia.co.in
