India–US Partnership Remains Strong & Expanding Across Sectors: Piyush Goyal

ENA Global 2025-11-19 16:02:08 New Delhi, Nov 19 (KNN) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, addressing the Indo American Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi, said the India US partnership remains strong, stable and expanding across strategic and economic sectors. He noted that the bilateral relationship continues to stand on firm pillars of democracy, diversity and shared developmental vision, adding that the United States views India as a trusted partner. Goyal said that while trade negotiations progress at varying speeds, they must remain fair, balanced and mindful of domestic sensitivities particularly those of farmers, fishermen, small industries and businesses. Highlighting Indias economic trajectory, the Minister said the country has moved from being among the Fragile Five to one of the worlds top five economies within a decade. He said India is on course to become the third-largest economy by 2027, driven by strong financial systems, moderate inflation, improving fiscal discipline and expanding infrastructure supported by reforms such as GST. Goyal outlined Indias development priorities, highlighting areas such as macroeconomic stability, inclusive growth, broad welfare coverage and the strength of a young workforce. He noted that India produces approximately 2.4 million STEM graduates each year and is currently engaged in several ongoing or concluded Free Trade Agreement negotiations with multiple countries. He said the Indian economy has more than doubled in the past decade, with ambitions to reach USD 30 35 trillion by 2047. Goyal also highlighted improvements in states such as Uttar Pradesh, which he described as an example of rapid economic transformation and rising investor confidence. The Minister said India remains an oasis of stability amid global volatility and continues to attract international companies, including more than 2,000 US-linked Global Capability Centres. He expressed confidence that India would continue to be among the fastest-growing major economies and emphasised the need for collective efforts to achieve national development goals by 2047.
