ENA Sectors 2025-12-04 13:39:08 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Dec 4 (KNN)</strong> Indias green economy could generate USD 4.1 trillion (Rs 360 lakh crore) in cumulative investments and create 48 million full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs by 2047, according to a new report by the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong> Massive Green Market Potential</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The analysis estimates that India could unlock a USD 1.1 trillion (Rs 97.7 lakh crore) annual green market by 2047.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This growth would be driven by 36 green value chains across the energy transition, circular economy, bio-economy and nature-based solutions.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong> Green Economy Council Launched</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">CEEW also announced the launch of the Green Economy Council (GEC), chaired by former G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Other members include IIT Madras Proffesor Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Srivardhini K Jha from IIM Bangalore and CEEW CEO Arunabha Ghosh.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong> Energy Transition Leads Job Creation</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The study projects that the energy-transition sector alone could generate 16.6 million jobs and attract USD 3.8 trillion in investments. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Clean mobility is expected to be the largest employer, contributing more than half of these jobs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Bio-Economy, Nature-Based Solutions to Add 23 Million Jobs</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Bio-economy and nature-based value chains could add 23 million jobs and deliver USD 415 billion in market value. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Key growth areas include chemical-free agriculture, bio-inputs, agroforestry and sustainable ecosystem management.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong> Circular Economy Output at USD 132 Billion</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The circular economy is expected to generate USD 132 billion in annual economic output and create 8.4 million jobs across recycling, repair, refurbishment and material recovery.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong> Strong Opportunities for MSMEs</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">CEEW noted that these emerging opportunities will heavily involve MSMEs, cooperatives and community enterprises, positioning them as crucial enablers of Indias long-term green growth and the Viksit Bharat vision.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></span></p> 44300 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/indias-green-economy-can-create-48-million-jobs-11-trillion-annual-market-ceew-report 2025-12-04 13:39:08 knnindia.co.in
