ENA Economy 2025-12-11 10:29:10 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Dec 11 (KNN)</strong> American e-commerce giant Amazon has announced plans to invest more than $35 billion in India by 2030 to expand its businesses with focus on AI-driven digitization, export growth and job creation.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The company detailed its investment plans at the sixth edition of the Amazon Smbhav Summit in New Delhi</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Amazon said it has so far invested about $40 billion in India to expand its operations and building infrastructure. The investment also includes compensation to its employees.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"> The company has invested at scale towards building physical and digital infrastructure, including fulfilment centers, transportation networks, data centers, digital payments infrastructure and technology development, the company said.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Amazon said it has digitized over 12 million small businesses in India and enabled $20 billion in cumulative ecommerce exports. The company further said that it supported nearly 2.8 million direct, indirect, induced and seasonal jobs across industries in India in 2024.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"> We have invested at scale in growing the physical and digital infrastructure for small businesses in India, creating millions of jobs, and taking Made-in-India global, said Amit Agarwal, Senior VP Emerging Markets, Amazon.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Agarwal stated that Amazon's growth journey in India over the last 15 years has been aligned with the country's Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat mission.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The company said that it will support 3.8 million direct, indirect, induced and seasonal jobs in 2030 as it grows its network.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">These will stem from Amazon's business expansion as well as its growing fulfillment and delivery network, which simultaneously supports parallel industries including packaging, manufacturing, and transportation services.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The tech major said that with the additional $35 billion in planned investment by 2030, Amazon aims to further accelerate digital transformation, strengthen infrastructure, and support innovation across the country.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"> These investments are strategically aligned with India's national priorities and will focus on expanding AI capabilities, enhancing logistics infrastructure, supporting small business growth and creating jobs, it noted.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The company said its comprehensive AI commitment will transform India's digital landscape to support the government's vision of AI for All. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Amazon plans to take benefits of AI to 15 million small businesses by 2030.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong><em>(KNN Bureau)</em></strong></span></p> 44377 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/economy/amazon-promises-to-invest-35-billion-in-india-with-focus-on-ai-driven-digitization 2025-12-11 10:29:10 knnindia.co.in
