ENA Sectors 2025-12-22 13:54:58 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Dec 22 (KNN)</strong> Electric vehicles (EV) are emerging as a key driver of Indias next phase of growth, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh said on Sunday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The Minister made the remarks during his visit to the Electric Vehicle (EV) Expo at Bharat Mandapam, where he reviewed a range of electric mobility solutions and interacted with exhibitors showcasing Make in India EV products.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Focus on Indigenous Innovation</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Singh took note of rapid advancements by Indian manufacturers in electric vehicles, components and clean mobility technologies. He appreciated the growing capabilities of domestic EV companies, describing it as a crucial pillar of Indias transition towards a cleaner and greener future.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Government Push for Clean Mobility</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The Minister said that India is not only benefiting from global innovations in electric mobility but is also emerging as an active contributor to the global clean energy transition.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Drawing parallels with reforms in the clean energy ecosystem, Singh referred to recent policy initiatives such as the SHANTI Bill, 2025, which promotes private participation in nuclear energy. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He said electric mobility aligns with the governments broader approach to strengthening clean, reliable and sustainable energy sources.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Expanding Applications of EVs</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Highlighting the user-friendly nature of electric vehicles, the Minister said EVs offer ease of driving and reduced physical effort compared to conventional vehicles. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He noted that their applications are expanding across segments such as ambulances, e-rickshaws, passenger vehicles and commercial transport, making them suitable for diverse mobility needs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Employment and Entrepreneurship Opportunities</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Singh emphasised that electric mobility is emerging as a strong engine for entrepreneurship, employment and livelihoods, particularly for the youth. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He said the ecosystem developed under the governments leadership has enabled young entrepreneurs to start EV-related ventures with modest investments and scale them rapidly with technical and financial support.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He also stressed the need for wider outreach and awareness among young people about opportunities in the EV sector, describing electric mobility as a promising pathway for innovation-led growth and self-reliance.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></span></p> 44504 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/electric-mobility-key-to-indias-next-phase-of-growth-dr-jitendra-singh 2025-12-22 13:54:58 knnindia.co.in
