ENA Sectors 2026-01-12 12:18:29 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Jaipur, Jan 12 (KNN)</strong> The Rajasthan government has announced a tender for setting up 2,450 MW of solar power capacity along with 6,400 MWh of battery energy storage, marking the largest integrated solar-plus-storage project in the country.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Largest Solar-Plus-Storage Project</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Issued by the state-owned Rajasthan Solarpark Development Company Ltd (RSDCL), the project will be developed at the Pugal Solar Park in Bikaner. The initiative aims to ensure reliable power supply during peak evening demand hours, reported The Times of India.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The project will be awarded through tariff-based global competitive bidding and implemented under the build-own-operate (BOO) model. Power generated from the project will be procured by Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd (RUVITL) on behalf of the states distribution companies.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Infrastructure and Grid Support</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">RSDCL will provide essential infrastructure support, including land, transmission facilities and grid connectivity within the solar park. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Ajitabh Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) said, The 2.45 GW solar project with 6.4 GWh of battery storage at Pugal marks a shift from variable renewables to firm, dispatchable green power. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He added that it would improve grid reliability, attract investment and strengthen the states renewable energy ecosystem.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Compliance and Implementation Timeline</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The tender follows the Ministry of Powers guidelines for procuring firm renewable energy with storage.
