ENA Economy 2026-01-16 11:31:27 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Jan 16 (KNN)</strong> India has received foreign direct investment (FDI) worth USD 51 billion in the last six months, signalling sustained global confidence in the countrys growth story, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), said on Wednesday.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">National Startup Day to Promote Innovation</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"> As part of its startup push, DPIIT will organise National Startup Day on January 16, during which 75 Grand Challenges will be launched to foster innovation and problem-solving across sectors, he told the media.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The initiative has already received over 3,000 participation requests.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">On the occasion, 20 National Startup Awards will be presented to recognise excellence in entrepreneurship and celebrate significant contributions to Indias startup ecosystem.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Boosting Manufacturing and Corporate Collaboration</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Bhatia highlighted the governments focus on promoting innovation-driven manufacturing. New products are being manufactured, and significant investments are flowing into the manufacturing sector, he said, reported ANI.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He also noted growing collaboration between corporates and startups to foster innovation and scale production.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Digital India and Youth-Led Growth</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">At the final session of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the synergy of Digital India, startup growth, and youth participation is reshaping Indias future.
