ENA Global 2026-03-02 16:21:48 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Mar 2 (KNN)</strong> Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held bilateral talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at Hyderabad House, focusing on deepening cooperation under the India Canada Strategic Partnership.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The two leaders reviewed progress across key sectors and signed several agreements, including a landmark pact on long-term uranium supply for Indias civil nuclear energy programme. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">We have struck a landmark deal for long-term uranium supply. We will also work together on small modular reactors and advanced reactors, PM Modi said, PTI reported.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Trade and Strategic Cooperation</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">India and Canada agreed to soon finalise a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), firming up its terms of reference. They also signed an agreement on cooperation in the critical minerals sector.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Modi said both countries share democratic values and a commitment to diversity and global well-being, and discussed elevating this vision into a next level partnership. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Cooperation in defence industries and maritime domain awareness will also be strengthened.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Regional Security and Counter-Terrorism</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The leaders discussed the evolving security situation in West Asia. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In a media statement, Modi said, The current situation in West Asia is a matter of grave concern for us.
