Jaishankar has said that India supports a Myanmar-led and Myanmar-owned peace process aimed at achieving lasting peace and development in Myanmar.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Speaking virtually at the inauguration of the Sarsobeikman Literary Centre building in Yangon on Wednesday, the EAM said India consistently supports an inclusive political process in Myanmar and shares its experience in federalism and constitutional governance with stakeholders in the country, PTI reported.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Importance of India Myanmar Ties</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Jaishankar underlined that Myanmar holds a key place in Indias foreign policy, as it lies at the intersection of three major policy priorities &mdash; Neighbourhood First, Act East, and MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He noted that Myanmar is one of Indias strategic neighbours and shares a 1,640-km border with several northeastern states, including Nagaland and Manipur.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Development and Cultural Cooperation</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The minister said, We support an inclusive, Myanmar-led and Myanmar-owned peace process that can deliver lasting peace and development for all in Myanmar. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"> Our multifaceted engagement includes political, trade, security and cultural cooperation. When it comes to development cooperation, our engagement with Myanmar has been people-centric and demand-driven, aimed towards strengthening local economies and improving lives, Jaishankar added.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The newly inaugurated Sarsobeikman Literary Centre, built with Indias assistance, will support the preservation and study of Myanmars classical and folk literature.
