ENA Sectors 2026-03-19 13:43:52 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Mar 19 (KNN)</strong> Tamil Nadu has emerged as Indias leading textile exporter, recording shipments worth USD 7,997.17 million in FY 2024 25, marking a 29.12 percent increase over the past four years, according to official data.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Textile exports from the state rose from USD 6,193 million in 2020 21, reflecting steady growth driven by policy support and sectoral expansion, reported The Economic Times.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Chief Minister M K Stalin said the state has outpaced key competitors like Gujarat and Maharashtra to secure the top position in textile exports.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">He noted that Tamil Nadu now accounts for 21.84 percent of Indias total textile exports, highlighting its strong manufacturing base and export competitiveness.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">According to the National Import-Export Record for Yearly Analysis of Trade platform, Indias total textile exports stood at USD 36,610 million, with Tamil Nadu contributing the largest share.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Gujarat ranked second with exports of USD 5,646.01 million, followed by Maharashtra at USD 3,831.29 million.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The government attributed the growth to coordinated efforts across departments and sustained policy support, which have driven the states overall industrial and export performance.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></span></p> 45513 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/tamil-nadu-tops-indias-textile-exports-records-29-growth-in-four-years 2026-03-19 13:43:52 knnindia.co.in
