ENA State 2026-03-24 13:38:46 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Lucknow, Mar 24 (KNN)</strong> The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved as many as 35 proposals which include simplified land use conversion process and new projects in renewable and conventional energy sectors. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Land Use Reform To Boost Ease Of Doing Business</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Among the key decisions, the Cabinet approved an amendment to Section 80 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006, aimed at simplifying the process of converting agricultural land for non-agricultural use in areas governed by development authorities, industrial development authorities, and housing boards.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Providing details, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that the earlier dual approval process, requiring separate clearances for land-use conversion and building plans, has been streamlined. Under the revised system, approval of the building plan will automatically imply land-use conversion.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The move is expected to reduce procedural delays and administrative bottlenecks, making it easier for individuals and investors to undertake construction of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In development authority areas, applicants will no longer require separate permission for land-use change, addressing delays that previously arose due to pending approvals at various administrative levels, including the Chief Town and Country Planner.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The state government said the reform aligns with its broader objective of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a USD 1 trillion economy, with expected benefits for industrial development, real estate expansion, and institutional infrastructure.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Energy Projects Approved </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In the renewable energy segment, the Cabinet approved the development of a 20 MW floating solar power plant at Chilua Tal in Gorakhpur as part of efforts to develop the city into a solar hub after Ayodhya.
