New Delhi, Apr 1 (KNN) The Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, Shripad Yesso Naik, on Wednesday said that no demand has so far been received from Andhra Pradesh for grid-connected solar plants under Component A and standalone solar pumps under Component B of the PM-KUSUM Scheme.

This information was provided by the Minister in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.

He noted that PM-KUSUM is a demand-driven scheme and capacities are allocated on the basis of proposals received from states and the achievement of implementation milestones.

The Minister added that the responsibility for beneficiary selection and implementation lies with the respective State Implementing Agencies (SIAs).

As per the reply in Lok Sabha, allocations to Andhra Pradesh have been made under Component C (Feeder Level Solarization) of the PM-KUSUM scheme based on its demand. Accordingly, an allocation of 1,00,000 pumps was made to the state in FY 2024 25 and 1,93,587 pumps in FY 2025 26. The state is currently in the process of installation of solar plants as per the allocation.

The funds under the scheme are released based on the progress of installation reported by the State Implementing Agencies (SIA) and as per provisions of the scheme guidelines. Since the plants are under installation, the demand is expected to be raised by the state after installation, the MoS said in his reply.

He further stated that Andhra Pradesh has submitted a demand of 1,753 MW under Component C for four years as per estimated targets under PM-KUSUM 2.0.

(KNN Bureau)
