Digital Printing Gets Green Tag In Delhi, Compliance Burden Eases For Printing Sector & MSMEs

ENA MSME 2026-04-02 14:37:07 New Delhi, Apr 2 (KNN) In a move aimed at improving Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has aligned its industrial categorisation with guidelines issued by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). As part of this update, digital printing on flex, vinyl and PVC has been classified under the Green Category, indicating low pollution potential. Announcing the decision, Delhis Environment and Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the step would support entrepreneurs in the printing sector while maintaining environmental safeguards, reported EdexLive. The move follows earlier reforms, including relaxation of Consent to Operate (CTO) timelines for Green Category industries. Sirsa highlighted, Digital printing on flex, vinyl, and PVC, now Green, joins over 125 such sectors, including apparel, aluminium products, ayurvedic units, furniture, packaging, optical goods, toys, and cold storage. The Minister said the government is adopting a data-driven approach to rationalise industrial categories, encouraging non-polluting businesses while continuing efforts to tackle pollution. Many of these sectors are dominated by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are expected to gain from reduced compliance burden. These businesses, often powered by MSMEs, will benefit from our path-breaking EoDB reforms, he noted. The reform is part of a broader effort to replace legacy regulatory processes with streamlined, trust-based systems.
