ENA Sectors 2026-04-07 17:51:58 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Apr 7 (KNN)</strong> Electric vehicle (EV) retail sales in India rose 24.6 per cent year-on-year to 24.52 lakh units in FY26, with all segments recording strong double-digit growth, according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The industry saw robust momentum across two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and commercial vehicles, marking a significant year for Indias clean mobility transition.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">FADA President CS Vigneshwar said, FY'26 has been a watershed year for India's electric mobility story, adding, This is not just an automobile industry achievement, it is a testament to India's ability to lead a mass-market energy transition, from the last-mile auto-rickshaw to the family car, reported PTI.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Passenger EVs Surge, Near 2 Lakh Mark</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Electric passenger vehicle (PV) sales surged 83.63 per cent to 1,99,923 units in FY26, nearly touching the 2 lakh milestone.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles led the segment with 78,811 units, followed by JSW MG Motor India at 53,089 units and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Ltd with 42,721 units.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Two-Wheelers Continue to Dominate</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Electric two-wheelers remained the largest segment, crossing 14 lakh units with sales of 14,01,818 units, up 21.81 per cent from FY25.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">TVS Motor Company topped the category with 3,41,513 units, followed by Bajaj Auto at 2,89,349 units and Ather Energy at 2,39,178 units.</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14px">Three-Wheelers and Commercial EVs Expand</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Electric three-wheeler sales grew 18.97 per cent to 8,30,819 units, reflecting strong adoption in last-mile mobility.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Meanwhile, electric commercial vehicles recorded the fastest growth, surging 120.57 per cent to 19,454 units, albeit on a lower base.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 45712 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/indias-ev-retail-sales-jump-246-to-245-lakh-units-in-fy26-fada 2026-04-07 17:51:58 knnindia.co.in
