ENA Sectors 2026-05-05 16:58:43 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, May 5 (KNN)</strong> The Ministry of Defence has signed a Rs 1,476 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the procurement of five ground-based Mobile Electronic Systems for the Indian Army, aimed at enhancing operational capabilities and strengthening indigenous defence production.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The contract, awarded under the Buy (Indian Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category, was formalised today.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The project mandates a minimum indigenous content of 72 percent.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The systems are expected to contribute to the modernisation of Army units by enhancing electronic capabilities in operational environments.
