New Industrial Policy to come up in next few months, to focus on becoming part of global supply chain: Govt

New Delhi, Jan 10 (KNN) The much awaited new industrial policy for the country is likely to be rolled out in the next few months, Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu said recently.

Prabhu during an interaction with press said that the government is likely to release the industrial policy soon.

Explaining further, Prabhu said that the framework will focus on discovering ways to make India an active participant of the global supply chain.

“We have been batting to make India a part of the larger global supply chain. Also the government has proposed multilateral agencies to conduct study on where and how can India become a part of the global value and supply chain, Prabhu added.

Prabhu further informed that the new industrial policy is to focus on similar aspects.

“Once India strengthen its position thee, it can fetch business at various levels, be it the upstream or the downstream level of the chain”.

Hinting towards a dedicated framework for the MSMEs in the new policy, Prabhu said that industries of all scales be it the SMEs or the large enterprises, they are to benefit from the upcoming framework. (KNN/DA)
