Come and Make in Ethiopia: Ethiopian Minister to Indian Textile Industry

New Delhi, July 22 (KNN) In a bid to attract investments, the African country Ethiopia has extended invitation to the Indian textile entrepreneurs to set up the units in their country.

The proposal was extended during a recent visit of the Ethiopian delegation headed by Bogale Feleke Temesgen, Ethiopian State Minister of Industry, and Sileshi Lemma Bekele, Director General of Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute.

During the meeting, the delegation interacted with the Southern India Mills Association and explored various possibilities of channelizing investment.

The Minister from Ethiopia informed that the country has a land spread of over three million hectares that is suitable for the growing of cotton, which is underutilized as there are not many textile producing units in the country.

He added that the Ethiopian government is willing to offer both power and land on competitive prices on 60-80 years lease to the Indian investors.

Also the African country is developing 13 industrial parks with some Indian investors already a part of the project. (KNN/ DA)
