India and Barbados hold discussion to enhance bilateral relations across sectors including MSME

New Delhi, May 1 (KNN) With a view to discuss means and ways to enhance bilateral relations between India and Barbados in the areas of investment, taxation, connectivity, logistics, MSME, agro processing and capacity building, extensive discussions were held between both the countries.

To decide the way forward to enhance bilateral relations between India and Barbados, Union Minister of Corporate Affairs P.P. Chaudhary called on various senior Ministers of the Government of Barbodas which included Commerce & Small Business Development of the Barbados Donville Inniss and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Maxine McClean.

During the meeting, the ministers shed light on issues of cooperation in various multilateral fora regarding matters of interest in enhancing bilateral ties between both the countries.

In a meeting, McClean urged for the assistance from India in setting up of an Information-Technology (ICT) Centre in Barbados.

Further he asked for the support from India for imparting quality skill-based training to Barbadians in various sectors such as film making, tourism Industry, enhancing capacity building in disaster management etc.

During this meeting, the issues of importance of connectivity between both the countries and visa liberalization for the Indian students & their parents were also raised.

Chaudhary raised the matter of facilitation of visa to the Indian medical students studying in various offshore medical colleges located in Barbados.

This ministerial meeting between both the countries will go a long way in enhancing mutual synergy and thus thereby raising India's profile at the global stage, said an official release. (With PIB inputs)
