India-Indonesia meets for BTMF, investment-trade facilitation on the agenda
New Delhi, Sept 26 (KNN) Eyeing at increased cooperation among the two countries, the 2nd Biennial Trade Ministers Forum (BTMF) meeting was held between India and Indonesia recently in the national capital.
The Indian delegation led by Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu met the Indonesian delegation agreeing for convening early meeting of the working group. The prime focus of this group would be to layout agenda for boosting trade and investment between the two countries.
Also the working group will be coming up with blueprint on trade facilitation, in an attempt to address the trade related issues between India and Indonesia.
Both the sides also agreed to call on a meeting of regulators to look at the concerns involving the health and pharma sector.
Interacting with the Indonesian delegation, Prabhu raised several key points including the issue of market access and regulatory barriers concerning Pharma, Health, Dairy Products and Bovine Meat.
Also the issue of market access to automotive and auto components manufactured in India was posed during the meet.
There were talks over ways to explore greater investment opportunities in textile machinery manufacturing as well as formation of textile parks and Special Economic Zones. (KNN/DA)
