Indian MSMEs scouting for better technologies in TIMTOS, Taiwan

Teipei, Mar 8 (KNN) A large Indian delegation comprising of fifty eight micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is visiting the 26thTaipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS) to look out for the latest manufacturing technologies. 

The delegation, being coordinated by India’s premier industry body Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), is visiting the Trade Fair and also participating in Business to Business meetings from 7~9 Match 2017 in Taipei. 

Taiwan has emerged as the fifth largest exporter of Machine Tools in the World in league of Germany, Japan, Italy and the People's Republic of China. Nearly 80 percent of the country's total machine tool output is exported to 138 countries worldwide. More than 1,500 SMEs- machine tool and accessories manufacturers, reside in a narrow 60 km by 14 km strip of land known as the Dadu plateau in central Taiwan.

Organized jointly by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), TIMTOS is the biggest Machine Tool Fair in the region covering an area of over 100,000 square meters with 5450 booths.

‘Indian MSMEs feel comfortable while dealing with Taiwanese SMEs and number of cases of Technology Transfer agreements is rising steadily’, says Mukesh Kalra Joint Secretary FISME and the coordinator of the delegation.  

The current delegation is the fourth in the series that FISME mounted in Taiwan in recent years. MSMEs from states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, MP, Telnagna, Andhra, Delhi, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, WB, UP and Himachal are participating the current delegation.
