ICSB to hold MSME knowledge Summit at United Nations

New Delhi, Apr 27 (KNN) The International Council of Small Businesses (ICSB) will hold its first MSME Knowledge Summit aiming at building sustainable business worldwide. The summit will be held on May 11 at the United Nations headquarters.

The prime focus of the meeting is to explore the role MSMEs play as catalysts, creators and supporters in contributing to the growth of sustainable business worldwide and its contribution to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals to end poverty and bring in prosperity.

Ayman El Tarabishy, Executive Director, ICSB said that the council is taking several steps to address the obstacles in global job creation and capacity building the MSMEs are likely to face.

Government officials from various countries including Argentina, Egypt, and Kuwait, Academicians and private sector organizations are expected to be the key participants in the summit. The event will also involve stakeholders who had endorsed the UN resolution on declaring June 27 as the MSME day.

The summit will feature eminent speakers including Linda McMahon, U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator. Patrice Harris of American Medical Association and Michael Falk, Chairman of the Board and Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.

The MSME summit will further lay the roadmap for the 62nd ICSB World Conference to be held on June 27 in Buenos Aires. (KNN/ DA)
