If provided appropriate support, MSMEs can bring an end to poverty by 2030: Int’l Trade Center
New Delhi, July 3 (KNN) Emphasizing the importance of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises the International Trade Center (ITC) recently stated that if the MSME Sector is provided with appropriate support, it can bring an end to poverty in the world by 2030.
The Executive Director at ITC, Arancha Gonzalez during an event on the World MSME day made these remarks. He further reiterated that the public as well as private sector organizations must support the MSMEs as MSMEs generate jobs bringing down the unemployment rates in the economy.
Lauding the MSME sector, The ITC chief further said that from the simple cup of coffee that we consume to the bigger products that we use, everything involves hard work put by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in some or the other way.
Citing examples of the MNCs such as Alibaba, Ebay and Facebook, Gonzalez said that even such big firms started small and over a period of time their small ideas into big viable businesses today.
The International trade Center is a joint venture of the World Trade organization and the United Nations. It was formed to facilitate the small and medium sized enterprises and help them compete in the global market. (KNN/ DA)
