Czech Republic-Indian MSMEs to explore collaboration in defence manufacturing

Chennai, Apr 14 (KNN) Along the sidelines of the DefExpo 2018, Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) involved in the defence sector are eyeing at exploring possible areas of collaboration with the organizations from the Czech Republic.

Talking to KNN, Pushpak Prakash, Chairman MSME Defence Supplier Group of FISME informed that the delegation of Czech companies representing the defence industry led by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Milan Hovorka presented their solutions and hi-tech products during the DefExpo India in Chennai.

The Czech company Ray Service in an engagement with Indian firm ELcomponics showcased their product portfolio under the joint venture ELRay.

He further informed that the prime focus of industries from the two countries includes aerospace and defence supplies of cables and cable harnesses as well as other electronic products.

Excalibur Army which is a part of Czechoslovak Group is ready to supply and co-operate in the area of armoured vehicles. Meopta System is offering optical solutions for assault rifles, night vision and for armoured vehicles.

THT Ostrava CZ will supply the Teflon hose assembly to Helicopter and aircraft’s with local partner Pushpak products india Pvt. Ltd soon once the unit collaborative unit gets functional, Prakash informed.

PBS group and CSG group is also to start their operation very shortly in Bangalore through Czech business incubator to supply advanced engine and ammunition parts to defence . Along with it another Czech company LIKO-s india have initiated their operation in Bangalore for sound proof cabins for defence and aerospace in cooperation will local MSMEs, he added,

Also during the event, discussions were held between the visiting officials to explore possibilities of using Czech turbine engines and turboprop engines for UAVs and other applications. Modernisation of the T72 tank in cooperation with Czech technical solutions was another topic for discussion.

“The delegation from the Czech Republic expressed interest in building ties with Indian Army and the MSMEs involved in the sector along the lines of Make in India”, Prakash added.  (KNN/DA)
