Kalraj Mishra launches Digital MSME Scheme, exchanges MoUs with SAP India, Intel and HMT

New Delhi, June 27 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) is celebrating the first UN MSME Day in the national capital today for recognize the importance of crucial role that the sector plays both in terms of job creation and contribution towards economic  growth.

MoMSME has organized a programme, underway currently, to felicitate the successful MSME entrepreneurs through National MSME Awards. During the event, Mishra launched Digital MSME Scheme and exchanged Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with SAP India, Intel and HMT.

Mishra said to encourage ERP in MSMEs, MoU has been exchanged between Ministry of MSME and SAP India.

The programme was inaugurated by Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra along with MoS MSME Giriraj Singh and Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary. MSME Secretary KK Jalan and DC MSME SN Tripathi were also present at the event.

The welcome address was delivered by Jalan. Giriraj Singh and Haribhai also addressed the National MSME Awards.

The Government has decided to implement "Digital MSME" Scheme for promotion of Information & Communication Technology in MSME Sector with a total budget of Rs. 85.705 Crore including Government of India’s contribution of Rs. 58.105 crore during 2017- 18 to 2019-20.

The scheme envisages promotion of ICT applications to make them "Digital" by adopting new approach of Cloud Computing with the objectives to sensitize and encourage MSMEs towards new approach ie., Cloud Computing for ICT adoption in their production and business processes with a view to improve their competitiveness in National and International Market; Adoption of best practices to improve quality of products and services; and To benefit large number of MSMEs in terms of standardizing their business processes, improvement in productivity through Cloud Computing by reducing the burden of investment on Hardware, Software and Infrastructural Activities using Cloud Platform. (KNN Bureau)
