3992 MSMEs registered under Udyog Aadhar as massive awareness programme takes place in Ernakulam

New Delhi, May 12 (KNN) Last year as many as 2,267 new Micro, Small and Medium enterprises got themselves registered. As the Department of Industries continue to encourage the industries to get them registered by conducting various awareness programs for the entrepreneurs in the region, the number of MSMEs that got registered under Udyog Aadhar has gone up to 3992 enterprises this year.

The data from the District Industries Centre revealed this statistics. Also there have been generation of around 9000 new jobs through fresh investments of Rs 200 crores in the sector.

According to the data the region saw a new high in the number of enterprises that got established. This year almost 124 new enterprises with investments of more than Rs 25 lakhs came up in the Ernakulam District Industries Centre.

The data further reveals that the single window clearance system has facilitated the entrepreneurs to file application and expedite the process of getting the license for their firms.

Also to promote entrepreneurship in the region, the Department have been organizing workshops at educational institutions in the district. These institutions also have dedicated clubs for entrepreneurial development.

Recently the department has  taken initiatives to introduce technology clinics eyeing at new technology firms. Last year the focus was on aquaculture and coconut. (KNN/ DA)
