Government to organise exhibition on Handloom and handicrafts from North Eastern States

New Delhi, May 27 (KNN) In order to promote the rich cultural heritage of the North Eastern States of India, an Exhibition on Handloom and handicrafts from North Eastern States of India will be inaugurated jointly by Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region and Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Textiles, on May 30, 2016, at Central Cottage Industries Emporium, Janpath, New Delhi.

As per the official release, this is an initiative jointly taken by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Ministry of Textiles to promote the handicrafts and handloom products of the North Eastern States of India by organizing an exhibition of high quality products from North Eastern Region at CCIC showroom in Delhi.

Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd, (CCIC), a premier organization under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles retails authentic and exclusive handicrafts and handlooms through its showrooms in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The products are being sourced from artisans and weavers including master craftpersons and National awardees from all over India. (KNN Bureau)
