MSMEs hail move to set up Plastic Park in J’khand but doubtful over implementation

Ranchi, Aug 3 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jharkhand are happy with the announcement of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and an industrial park for promoting plastic industries in state. However, how successful the implementation would be still remains a big question for them.
The 11 member ministerial council led by chief minister Raghubar Das approved the formation of the SPV (Jharkhand Plastic Park Limited) and also called for setting up a plastic park in Debipur block in Deoghar district.
A financial approval of Rs 120 crore was given for the same. Briefing cabinet decisions to media, cabinet coordination secretary Surendra Singh Meena said the SPV will work for facilitating plastic industries and providing infrastructure support.
Talking to KNN, the President of Jharkhand Small Industries Association (JSIA) Yogendra Kumar Ojha said, “It is a good move and plastic industry should be set up here for the development of the state.”
However, he said “We have to see what government further does because government always announces the parks but ground work does not happen on time.”
President explained that earlier the government had announced to set up a mega food park here but that is still not fully functional.
Speaking on the current status of plastic industry in the state, he said that many plastic industries have already come to Jharkhand. It is difficult to run a plastic industry because it is a petroleum product and rates keep fluctuating but instead of this industry is doing well.
The Das cabinet approved for modernization of higher and technical academics as it okayed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hewlett Packard for setting up cloud based smart classes in five higher and technical institutions.
The institutions are yet to be finalized, Meena said. HP will provide the hardware under its corporate social responsibility while state government will provide electricity. (KNN Bureau)
