State govt launches Startup Chhattisgarh, announces sops for MSMEs

New Delhi, Dec 9 (KNN) In an attempt to facilitate entrepreneurship among the youth of the state, the Chhattisgarh government recently kicked off its flagship event Start-up Chhattisgarh.
Under the program over 14 special camps will be set up in different regions of Chhattisgarh, these camps will act as hotspots for the youth to present ideas. Based on the presented ideas, best of them will be shortlisted and selected for incubation.
Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh in a press interview said that with the program in place, the aspiring minds of the state will be able to channelize their potentials into possible business ideas.
Announcing incentives, the CM said that that first 36 start-ups established in the state would be reimbursed (with) all state govt taxes paid by them for first three years.
Also special assistance from the government would be provided in terms of the project report, quality certifications, technical patent costs.
The MSME startups will be offered 60 per cent of subsidy on land premium in the designated government industrial parks, the Minister further said. Also subsidy of over 75 per cent would be given on term loan up to Rs 70 lakh for six years under the announced program.
With the program in place, the government is targeting bringing over 3000 ideas in the first phase out of which more than 30 startup ideas will be picked and worked upon further in the period of next four months, The Minister added. (KNN/DA)
