UP planning to provide exit policy and increased limit for technological upgradation for MSMEs

Lucknow, Apr 24 (KNN) UP government will ensure new industrial policy provides single window clearance and rehabilitation and exit policy for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the state, said UP’s Minister for MSMEs and Export Promotion Satyadev Pachauri.

The state government is also planning to increase the limit for technological upgradation for MSMEs to Rs 1 crore from existing Rs 2 lakh.

Pachauri also said that his government has referred to the progressive policies of Telangana and Gujarat to launch single window clearance system for UP industries.

The minister also promised to ensure that competent authorities would be present in all Udyog Bandhu meetings so that decisions can be implemented.

In line with the demands made by the industry since long, the Minister assured to request CM to be present or appoint someone on his behalf to attend at least one state level Udyog Bandhu meeting in three months.

According to a media report, Rajneesh Dubey, principal secretary MSMES and Export Promotion, UP Government, said that the upcoming policy will also have a rehabilitation and exit policy for MSMEs which have completed their life cycle and now want to upgrade.

"Until now the MSMEs got only Rs 2 lakh from government for technological up-gradation. In the new policy, we are planning to take up this limit to Rs 1 crore for industries."

Dubey said that since MSMEs contribute to maximum employment generation, the sector needs about Rs 2000 crore by next five years.

The Minister also assured to make sure that labour department comes for inspection only after informing before and that 60% of the house tax collected from industrial areas is spent on their infrastructure development.

Emphasis was laid on developing mini industrial estates in UP where small land pieces from 20-100 acres land can be even given to the private players to develop industries. This will extend all sorts of benefits to them like interest subsidy, financial incentives, electricity subsidy etc and they will be encouraged to set up industries in the states.
