Industry associations invited to provide feedback on the MSME schemes and programmes: SN Tripathi

Eyeing at further developing the schemes and programs for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country, S.N Tripathi, AS & DC MSME has requested the industry associations to submit feedback on the current programs run by the government.

Tripathi highlighted the need for an ecosystem in the country that can facilitate the growth for the MSMEs.He was speaking at the International Workshop on Innovation and Internalization Strategy” organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in association with Quality Council of India (QCI).

“At present over 300 programs are in place, channelized via different Ministries in the country. We will soon be writing to the industry associations to submit suggestions to further develop these schemes,” he said.

Emphasizing the importance of quality management, Tripathi said that it is important for the Indian industries to manufacture keeping in mind the larger international consumer base.

He further added that majority of the industries in the country work on “Jugaad” model, which is intended to cater to the domestic market, whereas industries abroad focus on innovation as well as quality management right from early stages of manufacturing, India must evolve along those lines.

Tripathi spoke of the different cluster models that are operating in the world, there is good scope for India to learn from the Industry led cluster model that from Germany, he added.

Key officials from GIZ and the MSME Ministry including Dr Arun Kumar Panda, Sec MSME, representatives from Industry Bodies and MSME clusters were present at the event. (KNN/ DA)
