PM Modi Lauds Budget 2024, Emphasises Support For Poor, Farmers And MSMEs

New Delhi, Jul 23 (KNN) In a measured response to the Union Budget 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his assessment of the fiscal plan presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister characterised the budget as inclusive, stating it ‘strengthens every section of society’ and guides ‘the country's poor, village and farmer on the path of prosperity.’

He highlighted the government's claim that 25 crore people have risen out of poverty in the past decade.

Modi emphasised the budget's focus on the emerging middle class, suggesting it would provide ‘unlimited opportunities’ for youth and scale up education and skill development initiatives. He also indicated that the budget aims to support women, small businesses, and MSMEs.

Addressing social equity, the Prime Minister stated that the budget includes ‘strong schemes aimed at strengthening tribals, Dalits and backwards," and would "help assure financial partnership.’

A key point of emphasis was the introduction of the 'Employment Linked Incentive Scheme.' According to Modi, this program will subsidize the first salary of new workforce entrants and facilitate apprenticeships for rural youth in leading companies.

The Prime Minister's comments reflect the government's perspective on the budget's potential impact across various sectors of the economy and society.

As with all political statements on fiscal policy, these claims will likely be subject to scrutiny and debate in the coming days.
