New Delhi, Nov 28 (KNN) The Fifteenth Finance Commission in pursuance of clause (1) of article 280 of the Constitution recently got the approval from President Kovind, bringing the commission into action.

Ministry of Finance in a press statement informed about the latest development.

The release informed that the Commission will be headed by N.K.Singh, former Member of Parliament.

Also former Secretary to the Government of India. Shaktikanta Das, former Secretary to the Government of India and Dr.Anoop Singh, Adjunct Professor, Georgetown University will serve as other members of the Commission, the release added.

Along with the head and the members,  Dr.Ashok Lahiri, Chairman (Non-executive, part time), Bandhan Bank and Dr. Ramesh Chand, Member, NITI Aayog are to function as Part time members of the Commission with Arvind Mehta as the Secretary to the Commission.  

The Commission is to make recommendations for  five years starting from the date of commencement of the commission. (With PIB inputs) (KNN/DA)
