New Delhi, July 29 (KNN) Dismissing media reports that the Central Government is planning to scrap off the newly introduced 2000 rupee note from circulation, the finance ministry has clarified that the note will continue.

Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Finance, in a press interview informed about the development.  Also the Minister informed that the 200 rupee note is in the final phase of printing and would be released in the economy soon.

The response comes after the issue was raised in the Parliament, though the finance ministry didn’t comment on it then.

Experts view that the government is aiming to limit the circulation of the 2000 rupee note and not to withdraw it. (KNN/ DA)
