2018 may see 75-100 SMEs board BSE SME platform: Ajay Thakur

New Delhi, Jan 6 (KNN) The BSE's Small and Medium Enterprises (BSE SME) portal is likely to see a positive trend in terms of firms getting listed on it, BSE SME’s Head Ajay Thakur informed.

Talking to press, Thakur said that the portal is looking at over 75-100 companies that might get listed on BSE SME in the year 2018 raising an estimated amount of Rs 1000-1500 crores.

Thakur further said that the BSE SME portal in the recent times has seen significant activity.

The SME IPO Index has given a good return of over 80 per cent last year, he informed.

So far over 35 companies have filed their prospectus and more filings are expected to take place in the coming months in 2018, Thakur added.

Recently a study conducted by Pantomath Research indicate that BSE SME IPO space witnessed an increasing investor interest with over 132 SMEs getting listed on the SME IPO portal in the year 2017.

in its study on the trends of SME IPO in 2017 revealed that over 132 SMEs raised a whopping 1,785 crore rupees. Earlier in 2016, the SME IPO managed to get over 66 firms aboard with over generating over 540 crores. (KNN/DA)
