New Delhi, July 1 (KNN) After a struggle and efforts of last 15 years, the Goods & Services Tax (GST) – the biggest tax reform since independence - is finally implemented in the country. In the present of President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Central and State Ministers, Election Commissioner, RBI Governor and other dignitaries of the country GST has been launched in the country.

Let’s have a look at some key highlights of the midnight launch event:

•           President Mukherjee: Introduction of GST is a momentous event for the nation.

•           President Pranab Mukherjee: There were apprehensions whether bringing over 1,000 items under the tax bracket would be possible. The council pleasantly surprised all of us by completely the task on time.

•           FM Arun Jaitley: The tax reform comes at a time when the world is facing slow growth

    The new tax reform is considered as one of India's big leap to attain higher/ sustainable economic growth. The tax reform "One Nation, One Tax" will reduce trade barriers with in the country and help entrepreneurs to comply with tax reforms in a hassle free environment.
