Anti-dumping probe on insulators imported from China

New Delhi, Sep 14 (KNN) Ministry of Commerce  has started an anti-dumping investigation on imports of electrical insulators from China which are used in circuit breakers, transformers, power transmissions, distribution lines etc.

The period of investigation for the anti-dumping issue will be the last financial year. 

But, for the purpose of analysing the issue in larger perspective, the data for previous three financial years and the proposed period of investigation will be considered.

Electrical insulators manufacturing companies such as Modern Insulators Ltd, Insulators and Electrical Company etc., have complained and filed an application seeking the probe.

Earlier, safeguard duty of 35 per cent for the first year and 30 per cent for second year has been recommended by the Director General. (KNN)
