BSE SME becomes first SME platform in India receiving 200 draft prospectus

Mumbai, Feb 16 (KNN) BSE SME has become the first SME Platform in India where 200 companies have filed their prospectus for getting listed as of date.

The investors’ sentiments seems to be high on the BSE SME platform with 200 firms filing draft papers to raise funds through IPOs since the launch of the segment in 2012.

So far, as many as 164 companies have got listed with the bourse out of which 23 have migrated to the main board.

The total amount of money raised till date on the platform is Rs 1,281.79 crore and market capitalization of the companies has reached Rs 18,298.07 crore.

BSE had launched its SME platform in March 2012 and since then, several companies have got listed on them and some have even shifted to the main board.

"It is the first SME Platform in India where 200 companies have filed their prospectus for getting listed as of date," BSE said in a statement.

"With the Indian economy expected to emerge as one of the leading economies in the world and likely to become a USD 5 trillion economy by 2025, major impetus is being given to strengthen the backbone of our economy - the SME sector," BSE said. (KNN Bureau)
