BSE SME just a company away from reaching 300 mark

Mumbai, May 23 (KNN) Not only BJP is approaching 300 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, the SME exchange of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) too has got 299 companies on board. It is just a company away from reaching the 300 mark.

The total amount of money raised so far through the platform is Rs 3,115.03 crore and the market capitalization of the companies is Rs 18,183.23 crore till date.

Meanwhile, out of 299 companies listed, 232 are eligible for trading and out of these merely 35 companies are actively trading since morning.

In total, close to 500 SME companies have got listed on BSE and NSE since the market regulator came out with detailed listing guidelines for SMEs in May 2010.

The NSE's Emerge platform for listing SME companies has 198 companies listed on it since 2012 when SMEs started getting listed on bourses.

The BSE SME and Emerge platforms have been urging more and more micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to tap the stock market to get access to finance by raising equity capital for their growth and expansion. (KNN Bureau)
