BSE SME now has 151 companies listed

Mumbai, Sep 14 (KNN) The SME Exchange of BSE now has 151 companies listed with the platform and the market capitalization of the bourse has crossed Rs 12,000 crore so far.

Three more firms – Ridhi Steel and Tube Ltd, Narayani Steels Ltd and Mitsu Chem Plast Ltd joined the bourse today.

The total amount of money raised till date on the exchange is Rs 1,103.83 crore.

Till now, as many as 18 companies have migrated to the main board.

Ridhi Steel and Tube Ltd is a Ahmedabad, Gujarat based company, while Narayani Steels Ltd and Mitsu Chem are Kolkata and Mumbai based respectively.’

About 26 firms made debut on the SME platform in 2016-17 so far, while 28 companies had filed their draft prospectus in the past fiscal to raise funds through an initial public offering (IPO).

Out of 26 companies listed, 23 firms got listed on the BSE’s SME platform, while the remaining got listed on NSE segment.

Till date, 165 companies have been listed on SME bourses, and have raised over Rs 1,323 crore.

BSE and NSE had launched SME platforms in March 2012, becoming the only two bourses to offer such a segment in the country. Since then, several companies have got listed on them and some have even shifted to the mainboard.

The platform provides opportunity to SME entrepreneurs to raise equity capital for growth and expansion. It also provides immense opportunity for investors to identify and invest in good SMEs at an early stage. (KNN Bureau)
