BSE SME open in red on Monday morning; no. of companies listed reached 96

Mumbai, July 13 (KNN) On Monday morning, the BSE SME opened in red with merely 8 out of 90 companies trading actively on the platform.
 
Out of 8 companies trading, there were 4 advances, 2 declines and 2 remained unchanged. The market capitalization fell to Rs 7,192.02 crore with a decline of -0.14 per cent.
 
The number of companies listed with the bourse has increased to 96, of which 6 have moved to the main board.

Meanwhile, BSE expects 40 initial public offers (IPOs) on its main platform and around 100 on the SME platform this fiscal, indicating a strong revival of the primary markets.

In the 2014-15 fiscal, the premier exchange saw six IPOs on its main board and 35 on its SME platform. But an overall fund raised was a paltry Rs 1,200 crore. It is expected to rise more than 10-fold to Rs 15,000 crore in the current fiscal.  (KNN Bureau)
