New Delhi, July 5 (KNN) As per the tradition, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman calls upon President Ramnath Kovind before presenting the Union Budget 2019.

Sitharaman will present her maiden Union Budget– a statement of the estimated receipts and expenditure of the Government of India for the year 2019-20 in Parliament today.

The Economic Survey which is traditionally released a day before the Budget mentioned that the government needs to pump in new investments.

While tabling the Economic Survey 2018-19, Sitharaman said the policies must focus on enabling micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to grow by unshackling them.

Along with with MoS Finance Anurag Thakur, Finance Minister Sitharaman is accompanied by Finance Secretary S C Garg, Chief Economic Advisor Krishnamurthy Subramanian and other officials outside Finance Ministry.
